Why a dynamic code matters here

Recipes change. Suppliers substitute. A mistake in an allergen list is not a typo, it is a recall. With a static code or printed text, a change means new artwork, a new print run and old stock that is now wrong. With a dynamic code the pattern on the label never changes, and the page behind it is corrected in under a minute.

The code stays valid for the life of the product. If you reformulate next spring, the same printed jar points at the new information.

Common questions

Does a QR code replace the allergen information on my label?

No, and you should not treat it as though it does. UK law still requires certain information to appear on the packaging itself, and the rules differ between pre-packed, loose and pre-packed for direct sale food. A QR code is the right home for the full detail that will not fit, and for keeping that detail current. Check your obligations with your local authority or a labelling consultant.

What if I change the recipe?

Edit the page. Everyone who scans the code from that moment on sees the new information, including people holding jars printed last year.

Does the page work without an app?

Yes. It is an ordinary web page that opens in the phone camera. There is nothing to install, no account for your customer, and it loads in well under a second on a poor connection.
